Notre-Dame-de-Lorette

Notre-Dame-de-Lorette is a neoclassical style church in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. It is currently under going renovations. Construction of the church started in 1823 under the reign of Louis XVIII. It was completed in 1836 under Louis-Philippe.

The interior of the church is known for its rich collection of paintings, sculpture and polychrome decoration. French culture figures musician Georges Bizet (March 16, 1840) and painter Claude Monet (May 20, 1841) were baptized in the church.

The coffered ceilings are composed of interlocking cruciform coffers or caissons made of gilded wood and were created by Hubert-Nicolas Lamontagne.
