Estate of Meudon

Meudon is located in the southwestern suburbs of Paris in the commune of Hauts-de-Seine and is known for historic monuments and spectacular trees. It is situated in the hills and valleys of the Seine and offers spectacular views of Paris.

All that remains of the Estate of Meudon is the Orangery and the remains of the Château-Neuf (above left) which has since been converted to an observatory. Château-Vieux in the distance was destroyed by fire in 1795.

It now houses a café which is a perfect respite from the steep climb to the Estate of Meudon. Above right: the Grande Perspective at Meudon (facing south).
